1. Agreement. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Character AI regarding use of this website and its content.
2. Acceptance of terms. By accessing Character AI you agree to these terms in full. If you disagree, please stop using the site.
3. Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to use Character AI and confirm this each time you access the service.
4. Description of service. Character AI is a showcase and companion chat experience featuring fictional AI girlfriend personalities.
5. Fictional characters. Every companion on Character AI is invented. Names, images and biographies do not depict real people.
6. Entertainment purpose. Character AI is provided for entertainment and companionship and is not a substitute for professional support.
7. No professional advice. Nothing generated on Character AI constitutes medical, legal, psychological or financial advice.
8. Account responsibility. If access credentials are issued to you, keeping them confidential is your responsibility.
9. Acceptable use. You agree to use Character AI lawfully and not to harass, abuse or attempt to harm the service or other users.
10. Prohibited content. Submitting unlawful, hateful, violent or exploitative material through Character AI is strictly forbidden.
11. Protection of minors. Any attempt to introduce content involving minors results in immediate and permanent termination of access.
12. No automated access. Scraping, crawling beyond standard indexing, or automated extraction of Character AI content is not permitted.
13. Security interference. You must not probe, scan or attempt to breach the security of Character AI or its infrastructure.
14. Reverse engineering. Decompiling, reverse engineering or reproducing the underlying systems of Character AI is prohibited.
15. Intellectual property. All text, imagery, layout and code on Character AI are owned by us or licensed to us.
16. Limited licence. You receive a personal, revocable, non-transferable licence to view Character AI for private, non-commercial use.
17. Trademarks. The Character AI name and logo may not be used without prior written permission.
18. User submissions. By submitting content you grant Character AI a licence to process it for the purpose of operating the service.
19. Content moderation. Character AI may review, filter or remove content that appears to breach these terms.
20. Third party links. Links to external websites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements by Character AI.
21. Availability. Character AI is offered on an as available basis and may be interrupted for maintenance or technical reasons.
22. Modifications to the service. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn at any time without prior notice.
23. Pricing and payments. Where paid options exist, prices and terms are shown before purchase and taxes may apply.
24. Refunds. Any refund entitlement is governed by the applicable consumer law of your jurisdiction.
25. Disclaimer of warranties. Character AI is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the extent permitted by law.
26. Limitation of liability. Character AI is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from use of the service.
27. Indemnity. You agree to indemnify Character AI against claims arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
28. Suspension and termination. Access may be suspended or terminated at any time if these terms are breached.
29. Force majeure. Character AI is not responsible for failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
30. Severability. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions of these terms continue in force.
31. No waiver. Failure to enforce any provision does not amount to a waiver of that provision.
32. Assignment. You may not assign these terms; Character AI may assign them in connection with a business transfer.
33. Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of establishment of Character AI.
